I am very, very behind.
A few weeks ago I managed to make some time and finally put the sleeves, bodice and skirts together to form the body of the dress. It was an exhausting weekend- all day Saturday and from 1:00-8:00 Sunday. But that is always the most exciting part of making a dress- when the pieces stop looking like pieces and start looking like a gown.

*rolls eyes* I got busy and discouraged and let myself get distracted. I'm going to keep this to a minimal words post because I need to shower and go to bed. And work in the morning. I slept about five hours last night...
Anyway, on to the ( dress )

So, as previously mentioned, Monday was a day off. I managed to get about three things from my list done, but I did them thoroughly, so that's good, right?
Dad was at work and Mum and Than were visiting relatives up north, so it was just me. All day. So rather than sleep in, lie around and generally feel like a terrible person, I got up at seven-thirty [okay, that is sleeping in], dragged my horrible old dressform out of the attic, and started an Avatar marathon on my laptop.
"Nobody react to what I'm about to say- I think that kid might be the ( Avatar. )
Here's my list for today. Patriot's day. Apparently only celebrated in Maine and Massechussetts? Twenty years and I had no idea.
- do dishes
- drag dressform out and make it useable
- make skirt mockup
- make dinner for Jane and Mary etc.
- try not to go insane, get very depressed, or feel like a horrible person
- lay out specific outfits to photograph with Jennie
- Play dress-up, possibly as Amy Pond because I'm a dork? And happen to have all the fixins?
- find Morgause icons
Well, the last one's achieved courtesy of

P.S> I am having a fantastic hair day. Figures that nobody's going to see me.
I can't really get anywhere on the dress right now, partly because this work week has been utterly exhausting, and partly because in order to make the sleeves I need a pattern to base them on, which is something I don't have.
It's kind of nice, having this much work. The past few weeks I've had not infrequent days where there just wasn't enough to do, and I was bored. It's stressful being this overloaded but at least I can't be bored. And I feel like I earn my rest.
Monday's Patriot's Day (which I just found out today is only celebrated in Maine and Massachussetts? I had no idea) so I'll have it off, and maybe I'll do more sewing.

My titles are so clever.
Kay- things eventually worked out. Between Kit, coffee, sun and cranberry bread I got myself sorted. I'm tired and have a long day tomorrow, so this will be fairly concise.

I've just discovered that habotai has no interest in having pins shoved into it. *sigh*

I tried a few times to work on projects this week and kept just plain failing. They did not want to be worked on. However, today was Saturday and I was able to stress less and accomplish more. I finished the bodice that will be the foundation for my Morgause dress. This involved lots of poking and prodding. People think sewing is all dainty and nice and the occasional prick of the finger but I was pounding grommets with a hammer today and let me tell you, sewing can be very...barbarous.
So, with a sore thumb and scratched neck (we'll get to that bit later), ( onward... )
